We are situated within a Conservation Area overlooking an area of OutstandingNatural Beauty in the popular south/east corner of the Island. Local Awards include Countryfile 2019 best beach & UK holiday destination 2020. Popular Sandown Bay is nearby just a 4min drive or 20min walk plus many attractions. Pub/Restaurants and village shop are walking distance of Marmalade Cottage.
..About Brading
Brading is a great base on the Island being a 6 min drive from the sea & many attractions and a 5 min walk to the scenic and very popular Brading Down. Brading village has a railway station a heritage centre (links to the Fast-Cat ferry to Portsmouth/London Waterloo and hovercraft to Southsea) a Village stores/news/off licence, award winning fish and chip shop, hairdressers, post office, three excellent pub/restaurants, Rectory Mansion holds a coffee shop, restaurant and “very nice things” shops Lilliput Doll and Toy museum, Auction rooms,( Due to the current situation however not all may be open) Brading Roman villa and cafe, children’s park with zip wire. . A five min drive away is Oasis home/gifts and Cafe out of town shopping experience, or take a walk along the country lanes to Adgestone Vineyard (20mins) for a cream tea, glass of award winning wine or vineyard tour.
Historic Brading in popular scenic south East Wight. Situated on the edge of the village, Marmalade Cottage has gardens overlooking National Trust downland and area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with views to Sandown Bay, that has award winning clean sandy beaches, with lots of other attractions and fantastic walking, running and cycling can be found localy.
Getting around
Buses are frequent and go all the way around the Island. The nearest bus stop is a five minute walk. Brading has its own train station 10 minutes walk away and will take you as far as Shanklin or in the opposite direction to Ryde and train ferry on to London and all other mainland destinations and will also link to the Island Steam Railway taking you through to Wooton Bridge.

Trains direct to Brading from all mainland stations. All in tickets can be purchased. A selection of car, foot ferries and Hovercraft. Check online for best deal. Ask for directions if needed!
